Last year, some volunteers from the Informatics, Physics, Robotics and Astronomy Olympiads teamed up with a ETH startup to bring the Science Olympiad spirit to Fantasy Basel, Switzerland’s largest pop culture convention. In May we will be back - and you can join!

A weekend for high schoolers who are interested in science - from 5 - 7 September 2025 in St. Gallen. No prior knowledge is required and it's free! You can expect exciting workshops, insights into STEM careers as well as a fun and social time with like-minded people.

On January 15, the second round of the Physics Olympiad took place. The two-part theory test included calculating the properties of the Strépy-Thieu boat lift in Belgium and understanding how liquid crystal technology and voltmeters work.

Seit 2019 setzen sich die Wissenschafts-Olympiaden aktiv für ausgeglichene Geschlechterverhältnissen unter den Teilnehmenden ein - vor allem in den Fächern Informatik, Robotik, Physik und Mathematik. Wie haben sich die Zahlen in dieser Zeit entwickelt?

This year 865 students took part in the first round of the Physics Olympiad. 144 of them received an invitation to the physics camp and the second round. The threshold for a direct qualification was 12 points out of a maximum of 21 points.

From September 6 - 8, the Physics Olympiad organized a weekend for interested female students. The program: solving challenges, experimenting, visiting a laboratory and, of course, having lots of fun.
